Senior Director, Supplier Development

Summary:
Equalis Group is seeking a Senior Director, Supplier Development, to oversee, build, and grow Equalis Group’s growing contract portfolio. There are currently a total of three positions being recruited (Furniture, Technology, or Fleet). Qualified applicants are expected to have knowledge of cooperative solutions for education and government agencies with an expertise in either Furniture, Technology, or Fleet. Beneficial skills and experience include sales or customer engagement, public sector procurement, cooperative purchasing, project management, interpersonal and relationship management, presentations and group facilitation, and a strong ability to learn and operate in a fast-paced environment.
Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supplier/Category Optimization & Sales Expansion:
- Maintain, develop, and grow strategic relationships with supplier leadership teams.
- Develop and execute a sales plan for the category you are applying for (Furniture, Technology, or Fleet).
- Train supplier sales representatives on Equalis Group and their company’s Equalis Group contract.
- Regularly engage with supplier sales leadership and regional/local sales teams to secure early sales wins and drive contract revenue.
- Support supplier sales efforts with customers to help close business.
- Ensure all parties are working in harmony to drive success through the contractual partnerships.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and drive execution on category requirements, including category expansion and other support that may be required.
- Portfolio Expansion:
- Conduct market research through supplier outreach, industry-specific channels, and other resources to determine requirements for each sourcing category.
- Communicate Equalis Group’s organizational values to prospective respondents to the RFP’s.
- Work with the Equalis Group procurement team and lead agents to develop RFPs/solicitations, including the creation of a scope of work, specifications, evaluation criteria, questionnaires, and other aspects required by our lead agents prior to their solicitations.
- Provide insights and feedback to the Equalis Group procurement team and lead agents on supplier responses and capabilities prior to award.
Job Qualifications and Experience
- This position is virtual and only requires reasonable access to travel across the country as needed.
- At least four years’ experience working for or with Cooperatives, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), or other related industries.
- Energetic and enthusiastic; comfortable working in a fast‐paced, dynamic environment and enjoys building lasting relationships.
- Self-motivated, results oriented, with the ability to work in a remote environment.
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong organizational skills.
